McGilvra House
Seattle, WA
Architect: GGLO Architecture & Interiors
Relaxed with meditative Asian influence, this 8,000sq/ft Seattle home became the setting for a comprehensive lighting plan by SLG and was recently published in Seattle Magazine (see news). With prior knowledge of the interior elevations, furniture plans, materials, and wall/ceiling colors provided by the interiors team at GGLO, SLG went to work developing a design for the homeowner that not only provided them flexibility to light their cherished objets d'art wall and cabinet locations around the home but also contributed necessary ambient light for an intimate environment. On the exterior as well as the interior floor breezeway connecting the main house with the guest quarters, powerful but dimmable fixtures uplight this connecting element. Intricately detailed silk chandeliers with both Asian & Turkish influences installed in the master bedroom and living areas complete the finishing ambient touches to this lighting scheme.
