Gothic Mansion
Mercer Island, WA
Architect: Curtis Gelotte Architects
Interior Design: Sid Shier Interiors, Los Angeles
Old world gothic feeling and strong European flavor influenced the lighting design on this 12,000sq/ft lakeside island manor that began with conceptual sketches and concluded with refined lighting & electrical plans. Hammer-beam trusses, fine wood coffered ceilings and exquisite material finishes are dramatically lighted with a combination of new technologies and castle like decorative chandeliers and sconces. The wonderful scale and proportion of the two story study with its magnificent hammer-beam trusses is evoked by linear cove lighting, concealed shelf lighting, directional accents, and a custom chandelier fabricated in Europe. Landscape lighting on both the entry and lakeside of the residence is extensive.
