Sometimes seeing the effects of the light and not the light source is paramount. One has to look beneath the surface to appreciate the architectural details present in this project; likewise, the lighting design orchestrates interaction with materials, finishes, and volumes in a similar manner. Over the family room for the dual purpose of art and task lighting, small rectangular adjustable accents flush out perfectly with a sloping wood laminated ceiling plane. In the kitchen and transitional halls, glowing low-volt frosted glass monopoints create soft ambient light and add additional interest to the ceiling. Using brushed metal finishes and frosted diffusers, the decorative fixtures were purposely selected to be understated therefore drawing attention to their effects and not to themselves.
